Introduction to Wildlife Track and Sign

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday November 9

10:00 AM  –  2:00 PM

Expand your awareness of local wildlife by learning how to interpret the marks they leave behind as they live out their secretive lives in our forests, meadows, and creeks. This four-hour workshop is perfect for beginners wanting to know how to start learning about track and sign. Join Marcus Reynerson, certified Track and Sign Evaluator through Tracker Certification North America for a two-hour lecture on general foot morphology of animal families, gaits, and field considerations. We’ll follow up the lecture by heading out into the field for some practice with Parklands Interpretive Rangers.  This workshop will be part lecture and part field- experience so come prepared to be outside. No experience with tracking is necessary, this is geared towards naturalists at all levels who have an interest in our native landscapes and is a perfect class to take in preparation for the Wildlife Track and Sign Evaluation we will be offering early 2025.
